The 13th annual St. Croix Art & Culinary Show, sponsored by the Rotary Club of New Richmond, is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Sunday, April 29 at Ready Randy's Banquet Center.

The event is searching for local artists and culinary professionals who would like to showcase their talents in support of the event, which is a fundraiser for Rotary projects. The projects include the club's annual STRIVE scholarship program and other local education-based projects, as well as local, district, national and international projects and programs.

To apply, contact Jo Wrich at 715-243-2942 or JoAnn.M.Wrich@WestfieldsHospital.com. The deadline to apply is Friday, Feb. 2, with applicants being juried and those selected taking part in the show soon after.

The theme for this year's event will be "The Greatest Show on Earth" to give the evening a festive and fun circus atmosphere. The artists will be able to display and showcase their artistic talent in a variety of booths around the room, and the culinary professionals will supply a sampling of one of their specialties served butler style to the guests during the evening.

The evening will include wine and beverages (and non-alcohol options) paired with each culinary treat and with live auction of several pieces of art as part of the grand finale for the night. The event will also include a silent auction and a raffle drawing.

Special interest this year will be a tribute to Rotarian Phip LaVenture, who passed away in the November. LaVenture was a charter member of the club and the face of the group around the world. He attended many Rotary meetings throughout the world when he traveled, and was a member of the Group Study Exchange to Mongolia several years ago. He earned multi "Paul Harris Awards" for his many contributions to the Rotary Foundation and his family has been very active in many different areas of the Rotary organization.

Each year there are many loyal participants that return year after year, but each year also includes some new talent. The Rotary Club encourages everyone who has an interest or questions to contact Wrich to learn more about this event.

Tickets will go on sale the first week of March. Watch Facebook — facebook.com/St-Croix-Art-and-Culinary-Show-203154942207 — or the website — newrichmondrotary.com — for updates and more details.
