Appleton woman goes to jail for embezzling from soccer club
An Appleton woman will spend a year in jail and five years on probation for embezzling $70,000 from a soccer club.
Rhonda Graphos, 42, took the money from the Fox Valley Unified Soccer Club from 2005 to last year.
And co-president Matthew Winters said hundreds of kids lost a chance to play soccer because of the theft.
Defense lawyer Dawn Leemon said Graphos was in financial trouble and she thought she could pay the money back before anyone noticed it was gone.
The judge in the case ordered restitution, and the amount will be set later.
Graphos used to be on the soccer club's board.
