Milan A. (Mike) Krohn, 89

Milan A. "Mike" Krohn, age 89, of Somerset died Thursday, Aug. 22, at the Golden Living Care Center in Stillwater, Minn.

He was born the son of August and Mary (Mueller) Krohn on July 26, 1924, in Helena Township, Scott County, Minn. On Oct. 9, 1948, he married Delores Weber. The couple lived on a hobby farm in Somerset for 49 years.

He was a 50-year member of Brick Layers and Allied Craftworkers Local #1. He loved to fish, tell jokes, and chat with anyone. Mike was an avid Vikings fan and Twins fan. He enjoyed playing euchre and cribbage and his harmonica.

He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Mary; his wife of 64 years, Delores; son, Steven; brothers Edwin, Leslie, Leland, Milton, Merlin; sisters Vivan Wolpern, Elaine Wolpern, Laura Bernard Stier.

Mike is survived by his children, Dwayne Krohn, Michael (Liz) Krohn, Pamela Salisbury, Tom Krohn, Tim Krohn, Gregg (Carla) Krohn, Chris (Lisa) Krohn, Patty (Tim) Delaney; grandchildren, Jason (Colleen) Krohn, Tammy Salisbury, Brandon (Jennifer) Krohn, Breanna Krohn, Cassandra (Weston) Rogers, Clarissa Krohn, Christa Krohn, Joshua (Mai) Krohn, Melissa Coleman, Jeffrey (Brittany) Krohn, Ryan (Jennifer) Krohn, Emily Delaney, Amy Delaney; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Lila Lubke; brothers Gilbert and Oliver (Jan) Krohn; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Christ Lutheran Church in Somerset. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at Bakken-Young Beebe Chapel in New Richmond, and also Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Somerset. Memorials may be given to Christ Lutheran Church, Somerset Memorial Scholarship Fund, or Milan and Delores Krohn Trust.
