DuWayne Green, 61
DuWayne Green, age 61, of New Richmond lost his battle with cancer Sunday, Sept. 1, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, just as he wanted it.
DuWayne was born the son of Gordon and Evelyn Green, on Feb. 17, 1952, in New Richmond, Wis. He graduated from New Richmond High School in 1971 and shortly thereafter met Rebecca (Becky) Shafer of Amery, Wis., and they married on Oct. 20, 1973. He later went on to receive his Associates Degree in Business Management from WITC and retired from Andersen Windows in 1999. Since retiring he has spent his free time hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening, spending quality time with his wife, children, and grandchildren and cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers.
DuWayne is survived by his wife, Becky Green; and daughters, Holly Green of St. Paul and Sarah (Aaron) Riendeau of Hudson; his grandchildren Vanessa, Addison, and Nolan Riendeau; and his three cats Ralphie, Freak, and Monster. He is also survived by his siblings, David (Karen) Green, Ron (Sandy) Green, Eugene Green, Darwin (Jean) Green, Gordon (Debbie) Green, Carol (Jerry) McDonel; and many nieces; nephews; relatives; and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon B. and Evelyn Green; his sister Yvonne Langness; and his father-in-law Gordon M. Shafer.
Memorial visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, at Bakken-Young's Beebe Chapel in New Richmond and from 12-1 Saturday, Sept. 7, at First Lutheran Church in New Richmond. The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m on Saturday at the church.
