Richard J. Chevrier, 77
Richard James Chevrier, age 77 of New Richmond, Wis., died Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn.
Richard was born the son of Leo and Bertha (Frankwick) Chevrier on May 10, 1940, in La Crosse, Wis. He graduated from New Richmond High School with the class of 1959. Richard served in the U.S. Navy after high school. He was a strong-willed man with a great sense of humor, who loved to tell stories. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching TV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Bertha Chevrier; an infant son; sister, Sharon Larson; and former wife, Diane Chevrier.
Richard is survived by his children, Lori (Tom) Lancaster, Lisa Chevrier, and Jason Sampair; grandchildren, Michael (Ashley) Chevrier, Katie Chevrier, Liz Lancaster, Tommy Stuart, Samantha Lancaster, Samantha Sampair, Dylan Sampair, and Luke Sampair; great-grandchildren, Lillyana Chevrier, Rilei Sampair; siblings, Fr. Michael Frankwick, Ruth Stuart, Roger (Carol) Chevrier, George (Sandy) Chevrier, Dennis (Joyce) Chevrier, Lois Chevrier and James Chevrier; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at the Bakken-Young Beebe Chapel, 112 W 3rd Street, New Richmond, followed by a memory sharing service at 6 p.m. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Butler-Harmon Post 80 of New Richmond.
