Lloyd V. Haroldson, 90

Lloyd Vernon Haroldson was born on Oct. 18, 1926, at Alden, Wis., to Carl and Mildred (Johnson) Haroldson. Lloyd spent most of his growing up years in Star Prairie, Wis., at the family home on the Apple River. He was the eldest of six children. He was a member of Sons of Norway and enjoyed all aspects of his Norwegian heritage including the language, foods and travel to Norway.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 17 yrs. of age and was a Gunnery Instructor for the nose turret on the B-24 "Privateer" (Naval Aviation-Ordnance Second Class). He married his wife, Dalores Clara Fansler (twin) on Sept. 21, 1946, at Stillwater, Minn. They were blessed with three children, a daughter and two sons.

Lloyd was called Home by his Heavenly Father the evening of Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, after a long battle fighting Parkinson's Disease. At that time he and his wife were residing at Ecumen of North Branch, Minn. Other places of residence included: South-Minneapolis, Richfield, and Borden Lake (Garrison), Minn. He was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and snowmobiling.

Lloyd was an exceptional craftsman in his work as a carpenter/cabinet maker. He was a member of Local Union 1644.

He was a life-long member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Star Prairie, Wis. Lloyd had a great sense of humor and was a devoted family man who enjoyed his family, including all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lloyd is survived by his "Beloved" wife, Dalores, of 71 years; daughter, Linda Jean Clara (Mark) Adcock of Westminster, Colo.; sons, Bruce Allen (Sylvia) Haroldson of Wyoming, Minn., and William Lloyd Haroldson of Cambridge, Minn.; grandchildren, Scott (Laura) Adcock of Thornton, Colo., Jessica (Mike) Wanecek of Firestone, Colo., Kristina Adcock of Thornton, Colo., Britt (Adam) Carter of St. Paul, Minn., and Erik (Liza) Haroldson of Madison, Wis.; great-grandchildren, Meagan (Jordan) Ward of Thornton, Colo., Nathaniel Adcock of Thornton, Colo., Luke Kennison of Thornton, Colo., Cameron Wanecek of Firestone, Colo., Aidan Burchfield of Thornton, Colo., Emma Wanecek of Firestone, Colo., MaKenna Adcock of Thornton, Colo., Leif Haroldson of Madison, Wis., and Anders Carter of St. Paul, Minn.; sister, Margie Phillips of Atlanta, Ga.; sister-in-law, Carol Haroldson of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends .

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Janice Grotenhuis, and Ruby (Bert) Frey; and his brothers, Robert Haroldson and Warren Haroldson.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Star Prairie, Wis., with Pastor Dan Pennington officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church. Interment will take place at the New Richmond Cemetery following the service on Friday.
