Column: Library to host Grieving Well through the Holidays program
Krissa Coleman is executive director of the Hazel Mackin Community Library in Roberts
We are partnering again this year with Adoray to bring our community the program, Silent Nights, Grieving Well through the Holidays. The program is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5.
This time is year can be difficult and stressful just because of all of the to-do lists, planning, shopping, food preparations and general busyness that the holidays can bring. The loss of a loved one is never an easy thing to grasp, but during this season it can be especially hard. Please share our program with anyone who might benefit. Please pre-register by calling Adoray at 715-629-1888.
Paws to Read: Thursday, Nov. 30, 3:30-5:30 p.m. We are excited to have Julie Peterson and her therapy dog, Ole back to the library. This program is designed to help children with reading anxiety or difficulty to have a safe connection with a trained therapy dog as they read out loud. This experience can provide confidence and build reading skills. No signup required. Just bring your favorite book to share with Ole!
Tween/Teen Book Clubs: Saturday, Dec. 2, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This will be a joint program and students will be discussing possible changes to the book clubs and determining what books will be discussed in the New Year. Holiday crafts and food will be part of the event.
S.T.E.M.: Thursday, Dec. 7, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Please register your student to make sure we have enough supplies.
Christmas on Main: Saturday, Dec. 9. We are excited to be part of this fun day. Lego Club will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m., and we will have great make and take Christmas ornaments 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Plan on heading to Main Street after stopping by the library for an afternoon of food, fun and entertainment.
