“We didn’t want to leave anyone out.” Helene Houle, of St. Paul, said that was the reason there are 11 bricks engraved with her L’Allier family member names in the garden at Old Town Hall.

Bench project set for Larry Forrest Park

Somerset is about to get benched. Representatives from “The Bench Project” – a regional community art project coordinated by the Phipps Center for the Arts in partnership with the St. Croix Valley Community Foundation – addressed the Village of Somerset Board during its June 17 meeting.

The concert weekend is over. After two major concerts spread over four days, the community of Somerset is settling back to its 2,500+ population.

Sheet metal company moves into Somerset

“We’ve found our dream building.” Amanda Oman, office manager for the Al Hazelton Co., stood in the middle of the 9,000-square-foot warehouse. The adjoining 2,000 square feet of office space is not yet completed, but Oman said she won’t complain.
