Organizers are hoping for a big turnout Friday, July 29, when the inaugural Wildcat Hall of Fame Class is honored at the Wildcat Open Golf Tournament and Hall of Fame Dinner Banquet at Kilkarney Hills Golf Course.

Fourteen individuals will be inducted in categories that include Athlete, Coach, Distinguished Citizen and Legacy. Sponsored by the River Falls High School Pep Club, the event will be an opportunity for alumni to reunite and acknowledge the successes of the RFHS community.

Coaches in the inaugural class include Deb Timmerman and Ron Wunrow, while Grant Hanson and Kirby Symes will be inducted as Distinguished Citizens. The Distinguished Citizen category is for persons who have made outstanding contributions to the River Falls School District or society as a whole.

The day will begin with a golf scramble with registration and lunch from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at noon. The Hall of Fame Dinner Banquet and Induction Ceremonies will start at 6 p.m. with a social event including live music to follow.

"It's not just a golf outing," Pep Club advisor Ryan Bishop said. "That's such a small piece of what this event is about. This day is meant to be a celebration of the Wildcat community. A day for Wildcats of both past and present to come together and celebrate our Wildcat history. Whether you or your child was in tennis or football or anything in between, or just simply a Wildcat fan in general, you are a part of the Wildcat community. We invite you all to help celebrate our rich history and be a part of starting this great tradition for years to come."

Tickets for the Wildcat Hall of Fame Golf Open and Dinner Banquet are for sale at the First National Bank and The West Wind Supper Club, or by visiting People can also email or call Pep Club advisor Steve Trudeau at (651) 214-4431.
