Durham selected for WBCA All-Star Baseball Classic

New Richmond senior Drew Durham has been selected to play in the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches All-Star Classic, which will be held in Oshkosh on June 28-29.

New Richmond senior Drew Durham has been selected to be part of the West squad that will play in the 30th annual Wisconsin Baseball Association All-Star Classic.

The Classic will be played in Oshkosh on June 28-29. This is a round-robin tournament that will be played at Oshkosh North High School. Seventy-two of the top senior baseball players in the state have been selected to fill the rosters for the four teams.

Durham is the first New Richmond player selected for the Classic since Cole Johnston in 2008. Both were selected as catchers. Durham is the ninth Tiger player selected in the 30-year-history of the tournament.

Durham finished the 2013 season with a .404 batting average. He ranked second on the Tigers with 15 runs scored.

Other area players on the West All-Stars include James Georgekas of Ellsworth, Jake Mullendore of Amery, Alex Call of River Falls and Austin Evenson of Hudson. The West team will be coached by Cumberland varsity coach Mark Fuller.
