WIAA soccer: New Richmond boys are top seed, Somerset to open at home

The New Richmond boys soccer team has earned the top seed in the WIAA Division 2 sectional tournament bracket. 

The WIAA announced the 2017 boys soccer tournament brackets early Monday. New Richmond and Somerset will both open their tournament schedule at home.

New Richmond opens Division 2 tournament action at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will host Tomah, the eighth seed in the tournament bracket.  The game will be played at the New Richmond High School soccer field. The winner of Thursday's game will be back in action on Saturday.

Somerset will play at home on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the opening round of Division 3 tournament action. The Spartans are the eighth seed in the sectional bracket. They will host Spooner, the ninth seed, in the play-in game on Thursday at the Somerset High School field. The winner of Tuesday's game will play Thursday at 4 p.m. at Amery. Amery is the top seed in the Division 3 sectional bracket.
