The St. Croix Central girls placed seventh among the 16 teams competing at the WIAA Division 2 state championships at Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday.
St. Croix Central senior Liv Moll capped her high school cross country career by leading the Panthers with a 17th place finish at the state meet. Freshman Sydney Carlson was Central's second finisher, placing 58th. Mya Kizer placed 82nd, Claire Moll placed 88th, Marie Hamlin was 90th, Mariah Withuski was 115th and Kourtney Labeause was 142nd.
In Division 1, freshman Kayla Harris placed 93rd out of 189 runners in the state meet.
For the New Richmond boys, senior Dylan Wachter placed 87th out of 189 runners in the Division 1 state meet.
The St. Croix Central boys placed 16th in the Division 2 team competition. Freshman Cougar Holder was the Panthers' top finisher, placing 79th. Sophomore Erik Collins was close behind, placing 83rd. They were followed by Riley Hackbarth in 118th, Spencer Goodwin 125th, Jacob Eggen 133rd, Will Spitzmueller 139th and Josh Burgess in 142nd.
