First two Badger games will be on Big Ten Network
University of Wisconsin football fans hope their cable providers can strike a deal with the Big Ten Network because that's where their first two games will be televised.
The Badgers announced Wednesday that their August 30th home game against Akron, and the Sept. 6 home contest against Marshall will both start at 11 a.m.
Last month, Chicago cable giant Comcast struck a deal to show the Big Ten Network on their expanded basic line-up and that raised hopes that Wisconsin's largest cable providers - Charter and Time Warner - would do the same before football returns.
All sides say negotiations are continuing. Only some smaller cable systems and satellite providers in Wisconsin now carry the Big Ten Network.
About two-thirds of Wisconsin cable viewers were left in the dark last year when five Badger football games were shown on the Big Ten channel.
