The New Richmond Orange Babe Ruth baseball team put together an impressive season this summer.

The Babe Ruth team finished the season with a 17-2 record. They capped their season by winning the Western Wisconsin Baseball League tournament, which includes teams from New Richmond, Hudson, River Falls and Somerset.

The New Richmond Babe Ruth Black team also put together a strong showing this summer, winning its division before losing in the league tournament.

The New Richmond Orange team started the league tournament with a 14-6 win over the Hudson Purple team. That advanced New Richmond Orange to the title game against the Hudson Green team. Hudson Green had delivered New Richmond's second loss of the season last Tuesday.

The New Richmond boys proved without a doubt who was the better team. In the championship game they crushed Hudson Green, 11-0.

The Orange team is made up of boys who will be going into eighth and ninth grade this fall.
