If you want to support those injured in the bombing of the Boston Marathon on Monday, come to Somerset High School this Friday and walk, jog or run 2.62 miles.

The "Run for Boston" 2.62 mile walk-run is being sponsored by the Somerset High School student council. Meet at the high school at 3:30 p.m. The event will begin at 4 p.m., following a moment of silence.

All students, children, community members and friends are welcome to take part in the event. There is no fee to participate. Participants are asked to wear race shirts or red, white and blue to show support for Boston.

Anyone seeking more information can contact student council advisor Jen Grambort at

Any donations will go to The One Fund. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino have announced the formation of The One Fund Boston, Inc. to help the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15, 2013.
