New Richmond, Somerset football teams defeated

It was a frustrating Friday evening for the New Richmond and Somerset football teams.

New Richmond had hoped to climb to 2-1 in the Middle Border Conference, but the Tigers were overpowered by Prescott, 21-14.

Somerset played at Ellsworth in a clash of the two remaining unbeaten MBC teams. Somerset is no longer undefeated, falling to Ellsworth 27-8. 

Also in the Middle Border Conference, Osceola opened its new artificial turf field with a win, defeating Amery 23-6. Durand climbed to 2-1 in the MBC with a 47-22 pounding of Baldwin-Woodville.

In the Dunn-St. Croix Conference, St. Croix Central improved to 2-1 with a 20-14 win at Boyceville. Glenwood City continued to roll, crushing Colfax 44-0. Mondovi also remained unbeaten, edging Spring Valley 20-14. In a non-conference game, Elk Mound lost to Westby 48-14.
