Hudson boys basketball holds off New Richmond, 36-25

The New Richmond boys basketball team put in an excellent defensive effort, but the Tigers didn't have enough offensive firepower to counteract Hudson's Alex Herink. Herink finished with 16 points in leading the Raiders to a 36-25 win over New Richmond.

New Richmond used a gritty defensensive effort to keep the game close. Hudson took an early lead and led 15-9 after the first quarter. The Tigers kept the game close by limiting Hudson to six points in the second and third quarters. The Tigers cut the Raider lead to 23-22 late in the third quarter, but the Raiders scored the final four points of the quarter. The Tigers couldn't make any inroads into the Hudson lead in the fourth quarter.

Josh Geigle led New Richmond with seven points and Connor O'Loughlin scored six points.

The Tigers will be back in action on Thursday, playing at Baldwin-Woodville.
