Somerset's White almost pinfall turns into loss at state

The referee checks to see if the shoulders of Chilton/Hilbert's Austin Keuler are on the mat thanks to Somerset's Bailey White's throw in the second period of their 145-pound state tournament match.

MADISON - Somerset's Bailey White mave have come within a half-inch or so of pinning Austin Keuler of Chilton/Hilbert in their prelim round match at the WIAA State Wrestling Tournament Friday evening.

After a well executed headlock throw, White put Keuler on his back during the second period in their 145-pound, Division 2 match.

But Kueler was able to avoid the pinfall and maneuvered to get a reversal which led to a pin for himself in 3:22, thus eliminating White from the tournament.

White finishes the season with a record of 23-6 while Keuler (39-7) moves on to today's quarterfinal round match against Souther Door's Jacob Englebert (46-1).

Somerset's Max Praschak (36-3) will wrestle in the quareterfinal round at 182 pounds. This round begins at 11:15 a.m. Friday. He will take on Nick Bushman (30-8) of West Salem/Bangor. Bushman defeated Jacob Becker of Pewaukee by an 8-2 score in the prelims.
