New Richmond tennis ties for second at MBC tournament title; wins two individual titles

New Richmond's boys tennis team won two flight championships and placed among the top three entries in six of the seven flights to tie for second place at the 2014 Middle Border Conference Tournament played on Tuesday at Baldwin-Woodville.

New Richmond senior Nick Bradish won the one singles championship. He avenged a loss in last year's fnals by beating Eau Claire Regis' Hunter Cameron 6-2, 7-6 in the one singles finals.

New Richmond junior Jack Hop took the two singles championship in the tournament. He defeated Victor Bourget of Regis 6-3, 6-3 to win the flight.

The Tigers took second place in the three and four singles flights. Senior Casey Turnipseed and freshman Stuart Pearson were defeated by opponents from Regis in those title matches.

New Richmond's three doubles team of Mitch Giannini and Russ Hop also took second place, losing to Regis in the finals.

New Richmond's two doubles team of Sam Hagen and Logan Dadez finished in third place.

Eau Claire Regis won the team title with 30 points. New Richmond and Altoona tied for second place with 27 points.
