Tesar resigns as New Richmond girls soccer coach

Steve Tesar

After leading the New Richmond girls soccer team to its most successful season in team history last spring, Tiger coach Steve Tesar has resigned.

Tesar’s resignation was accepted at Monday’s New Richmond Board of Education meeting.

Tesar coached the Tigers for four years. Last spring, he led the Tigers to team records in wins and in goals scored during a season.

Tesar was succinct in his reasons for resigning the position.

“It wasn’t anything with the players. I enjoyed coaching the girls. They were always disciplined and positive. Other dynamics (with the team) are changing,” Tesar said.

Tesar said he will stay involved with the soccer program. He will continue to serve as the boys varsity assistant coach. He also has two daughters starting in the youth soccer program and this will allow him the time to help coach his daughters.
