Hunter Education class to be offered in New Richmond

A Wisconsin Hunter Education Class will be offered for the New Richmond area.

The class starts on Monday, Feb. 11, at 7 p.m. Registration night will be held on Monday, Jan. 25 from 6-8 p.m. at the Westfields Hospital Conference Center, located at 535 Hospital Road. To pre-register, contact Mark Schlicht at 989-305-1750.

This class is required for anyone born after Jan. 1, 1973 who wishes to hunt in Wisconsin. Instructors prefer students be 12 years of age before Dec. 31, 2016. Pre-registration is required for the class. Students will be accepted in the order of registration. Only 42 students will be taken for the class.

Classes will be held Monday and Thursday nights from 7-9 p.m. ending Feb. 29. There will be one Saturday class, on Feb. 27, from 8 a.m.-noon.

Anyone interested must have a Wisconsin DNR Customer ID number before start of class. To get that number, call 1-888-936-7463.

The classes will be held at the New Richmond National Guard Armory, 1245 Wall Street. Cost for the class is $10. Students in need of special accommodations are asked to call at least two weeks prior to the first class.
