Annual NRRC Thanksgiving run planned

Before you sit down for that big Thanksgiving dinner, burn some calories with the New Richmond Running Club at the 20th annual Thanksgiving Day Run.

The low-key fun starts at the First National Community Bank parking lot at 8 a.m. and proceeds along city streets and pathways. The route varies from year to year, but it is always long enough to warrant an extra "guilt-free" piece of pie at Thanksgiving dinner.

Although the run in free, participants are encouraged to bring an item that can be donated to the New Richmond Five Loaves Food Shelf. Items in great demand are canned meat, granola, raisins, honey, peanut butter, paper products, household cleaners, personal hygiene items and baby diapers. Cash donations can be made as well.

Questions regarding the run or food donations can be directed to Jim Heebink at 715-246-5137 or jimheebink@gmail.com.
