Ikegwuonu blows knee and possible chance at NFL
University of Wisconsin corner Jack Ikegwuonu will not play anywhere this fall, after he injured a knee while training on Tuesday.
Reports said he was working out at a facility in Florida when he tore both his ACL and MCL ligaments and damaged the same knee-cap.
The knee apparently buckled while he was pulling a sled designed to improve his speed.
Ikegwuonu passed up his senior year with the Badgers to enter this fall's draft.
It's too late for him to go back, because he missed a deadline last Saturday to change his mind.
The injury practically blows his chances to get drafted by an NFL team in April.
It's still possible that somebody could take him in the late rounds and save him for 2009.
