Jorge Romero (left), Bill Hieb (right) and Grant Lind (center) pose at a conference after their mission group was kidnapped at gunpoint, robbed, tied up and left in the forest in Guatemala. Romero was the group's host and interpreter, Hieb led the mission trip. Hieb and Lind were among a handful of group members who opted to stay for the conference before returning home. The rest of the group returned home immediately after the kidnapping.

Dr. Delbert "Del" Permann has spent the last three years as interim pastor for Roberts Congregational United Church of Christ. Roberts UCC has now called Rev. Melinda Feller to serve as their minister. In recognition of Permann's service the past three years, Permann said the Roberts UCC congregation gave him an honorary certificate of pew ownership, so he will always have a place to sit when he returns to visit Roberts UCC. Permann stands next to the pew.

One of the areas of the building The Bridge Bible Church is renovating is the "KidZone" area, where the church's children's ministry will take place. It will also be leased by Sonshine Learning Center out of New Richmond as an additional location for the childcare center. Billy Schmitt sits on an example of one of the benches he is building for St. Anne Catholic Church in Somerset for his Eagle Scout project. Schmitt is a member of Boy Scout Troop 144 and St. Anne Parish. The tables will provide seating for church and school activities that take place outdoors. Schmitt said he plans to paint the picnic tables white when they are finished.
