County administrator resigns post St. Croix County Administrative Coordinator Chuck Whiting submitted his resignation Tuesday. Whiting said he has been hired to serve as City Administrator for the city of Faribault, Minn. He starts his new job Jan. 1. Whiting was hired in St. Croix County in February 2000 after the resignation of John Krizek. He, his wife Heidi and family, live near Roberts. David Erickson, the Chief Executive Officer of Erickson Oil Products, Inc. / Freedom Valu Centers based in Hudson, died Wednesday as a result of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident near Bozeman, Montana. His wife, Debi, was with him and sustained minor injuries. She is being treated at a local hospital in Bozeman. Erickson, 55, is the son of the late Claire and Betty Lou Erickson and was a 1973 graduate of Hudson High School. According to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, the accident happened shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday on Bridger Canyon Road.
Candidates for the newly created Branch 4 circuit judge position answered questions at a Chamber of Commerce candidate forum Friday noon at the Hudson Golf Club. Candidates Howard Cameron, Mark Gherty, Charles Harris, Carol Law and Ken Sortedahl were in attendance. The field of five will be narrowed to two after the primary election Tuesday, Feb. 19. The final two candidates will vie for the judge post in the April 1 election. The forum was moderated by local attorney James Johnson.
