Washington County prosecutors allege a Hudson man helped himself to more than $1,000 worth of golf equipment at a Woodbury store. The suspect, 66-year-old Donald Voorhees, "stated that security at Golf Galaxy was pretty lax and that he could not resist the opportunity," according to a criminal complaint filed earlier this year. Voorhees was charged March 19 with one count of felony theft. According to the complaint, a Golf Galaxy manager reported in February that three boxes of Titleist Pro-V1 golf balls were missing.
Two men allegedly wielded weapons late last month in separate Woodbury road rage incidents. The first road-rage incident spilled over into a Woodbury fast-food parking lot, where a man allegedly smacked another motorist's vehicle with his cane. According to a police report, a Maplewood man was attempting to exit onto County Road 19 from Interstate 94 when his vehicle was cut off by a minivan. The Maplewood man was able to get in front of the minivan and observed the passenger - a River Falls, Wis., man - waving his middle finger and "shaking his cane" at him.
