The New Richmond Chamber of Commerce will be naming its 2015 Citizen of the Year during its Business After 5 gathering, 5-7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 7 at Barley John’s Brewing Company, 1280 Madison Avenue.

The Internal Revenue Service, state tax administrators and leaders of the tax industry recently announced continued progress to expand and strengthen protections against identity theft refund fraud for the 2016 tax season. The end of the year is fast approaching and New Richmond City Administrator Mike Darrow personally invites the public to the third annual end-of-the-year egg bake breakfast. If you have attended before, Darrow said you will be promised egg bake meticulously cooked by his own hand. “If you are a first-timer, please know that the purpose (in addition to eating egg bake) is to offer a "year in review" highlight as well as a brief overview of the city’s budget,” Darrow said.

The City of New Richmond recently applied for and received a $1,000 grant from the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin's C.D. Besadny Conservation Grant Program. The C.D. Besadny Conservation Grant Program awards grants to projects that involve the management and restoration of Wisconsin's natural resources and/or focus on natural resources education and outreach. Named after former Department of Natural Resources Secretary and Foundation founder C.D.

Judge Michael Waterman announced his candidacy for election for a full term to Branch 4 of the St. Croix County Circuit Court. Waterman has held the position since May 2015. He was appointed judge by Gov. Scott Walker to fill a vacancy caused by the retirement of Judge Howard Cameron.
