The end of the year is fast approaching and New Richmond City Administrator Mike Darrow personally invites the public to the third annual end-of-the-year egg bake breakfast. If you have attended before, Darrow said you will be promised egg bake meticulously cooked by his own hand. “If you are a first-timer, please know that the purpose (in addition to eating egg bake) is to offer a "year in review" highlight as well as a brief overview of the city’s budget,” Darrow said.

The City of New Richmond recently applied for and received a $1,000 grant from the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin's C.D. Besadny Conservation Grant Program. The C.D. Besadny Conservation Grant Program awards grants to projects that involve the management and restoration of Wisconsin's natural resources and/or focus on natural resources education and outreach. Dollar General will celebrate the opening of its new location at 730 State Highway 35 in Somerset 8 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 21 with free prizes and special deals. Additionally, the first 50 adult shoppers at the store will receive a $10 Dollar General gift card and the first 200 shoppers will receive a Dollar General tote bag, among other giveaways.
Judge Michael Waterman announced his candidacy for election for a full term to Branch 4 of the St. Croix County Circuit Court. Waterman has held the position since May 2015. He was appointed judge by Gov. Scott Walker to fill a vacancy caused by the retirement of Judge Howard Cameron.
St. Croix County District Attorney Eric Johnson recently announced that his office will again be sponsoring the District Attorney’s 25th Annual Stop Drugs Poster Contest. Johnson stated that this will be the final year for the contest with the awards ceremony scheduled to be held at the New Richmond High School auditorium on Monday, Dec. 7, 7 p.m. “We have been going for 25 years and it’s the consensus from my staff that this is a good time to end the contest,” Johnson said.

Hazel Mackin Community Library held Halloween Extravaganza on Friday. Anna from Frozen had story time. Lots of hugs and pictures were enjoyed by the attendees. Children did crafts and watched Spookybuddies to kick off the Halloween weekend.
