Harriet Josephine Frank, age 86 of Deer Park, Wis., died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at "Our House" Assisted Living, River Falls, Wis. Harriet was born to Frank and Anna (Behl) Suckow on Dec. 3, 1922, in Forest, Wis. She was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Forest. When she was three years old, her family moved to Holloway, Minn. There she attended Rural District 14 Country School for eight years and high school at Holloway where she graduated in 1941. Her family then moved back to their farm in Forest in 1941.
March 21, 1933 - Nov. 21, 2009 Jeanne was the tenth child born to Knute and Elin Cedarbloom in Stillwater, Minn. She married John Meeds and had five children, Jill, John Jr., Susan, Scott and Jody. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three sisters, Flossie, Margaret, and Alice. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and granddaughter, Lisa Meeds. Memorial services were held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at the St.
Nov. 16, 2009 Mary Fleming Mary Janet Fleming (nee Tobin), 79, of New Richmond, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at Deerfield Gables Care Center in New Richmond. Mary is survived by her daughter, Patricia (David) Anderson, and grandchildren, Zachary and Allison, of Frederic, Wis.; her sister, Patricia (Thomas) Joyce of Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; her brother, Malcolm (Florence) Tobin of Oakdale, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held Monday, Nov. 23, at the Rowe Funeral Home in Frederic, Wis., with Rev. Catherine Burnette officiating.

Nov. 14, 2009 Bette Jane Burton, age 84, of Woodville, Wis., died on Nov. 14, 2009, at the Park View Home in Woodville. A Celebration of Bette's life was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Emerald United Methodist Church in Emerald, Wis. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial was to be held privately. Memorials are preferred. Services are in the care of the O'Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory in Baldwin, Wis.
Nov. 1, 2009 Isabell E. Sittlow, age 84, of Baldwin, Wis., died on Nov. 1, 2009, at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond, Wis. A memorial gathering was held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home. Services were in the care of the O'Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory in Baldwin.
June 9, 1931 -Oct. 21, 2009 Richard E. "Sid" Gillman Sr., age 78, of New Richmond, died peacefully at home on Oct. 21, 2009. Born June 9, 1931, in Lebanon, Ohio, to Enos and Ruth Gillman. 25 year veteran in the U.S. Army. Sid was an avid hunter and fisherman. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Delores and Bonnie.
Mike Cody Michael Lawrence Cody, age 63, of New Richmond, died peacefully in his home after battling pancreatic cancer. Mike was born Sept. 22, 1946, the son of Ed and Leonette Cody of New Richmond. Upon graduating from NRHS and marrying his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Germain, Mike served in the Marines before returning to NR to raise his family and make a career out of the family cattle business.
Oct 3, 2009 Urkis Prater, age 87, of Baldwin, formerly of Prescott, died peacefully Friday, Oct. 3, 2009, at his residence. A Celebration of Life will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Ellsworth. Full military honors will be provided by the Baldwin American Legion Post.
Jan. 15, 1925 - Oct. 22, 2009 Alvin Wettig Alvin C. Wettig, age 84, of New Richmond, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at the Deerfield. He was born the son of Alfred and Helen (Amundson) Wettig on Jan. 15, 1925, in New Richmond. On August 16, 1947, Alvin married Myrtle M. Halberg in Amery, Wis. He worked for Whirlpool for 38 years and in retirement delivered Meals on Wheels for almost 10 years. Alvin made working his hobby along with collecting cars. He enjoyed having meals with friends and family and reading the newspaper every day.
