July 23, 1936 - Oct. 21, 2009 Everett Glaser Everett Frank Glaser was born July 23, 1936, to Henry and Minnie Glaser of Prairie Farm, Wis. His brief battle with cancer ended Oct. 21, 2009. He grew up on the family farm and went through school in Prairie Farm. He attended UW-River Falls, and graduated in 1958 with a bachelor's degree in Agriculture Education. He continued his education at UW-Stout, in Menomonie, and received his master's degree in Guidance and Administration in 1961. He married Marlene Broten on Oct. 15, 1955.
April 12, 1980 - Oct. 21, 2009 Dan Casey Daniel John Casey, age 29, died at his home in Centuria, Wis., on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009. Dan was born on April 12, 1980, on his parent's anniversary in New Richmond, Wis. He grew up on the family dairy farm east of New Richmond with his loving parents, Richard and Patricia Casey, two older brothers, Miles and Bryan Casey, and his younger sister, Maureen. Dan went to St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from New Richmond High School in 1998.
March 20, 1922 - Nov. 6, 2009 Ida M. Kruschke, age 87, of New Richmond, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Westfields Hospital. Ida was born the daughter of Gustav and Mabel (Olson) Freeberg on March 20, 1922, in Minneapolis, Minn. She graduated from Washburn High School and the Minnesota School of Business. Ida worked for Aetna Insurance Company until she married Richard Kruschke on Sept. 4, 1948. She moved to New Richmond where they farmed for many years. Ida was a homemaker, raised a family, and farmed.
Nov. 7, 2009 Michael T. Ross Sr., age 57, of New Richmond, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009. A private remembrance will be planned by his family. July 11, 1923 - Nov. 2, 2009 Vernon Dull Vernon S. Dull, age 86, of Roberts, Wis., passed away Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at the St. Croix County Health Center in New Richmond. He was born the son of Roy and Ellen (Snicker) Dull on July 11, 1923, in Roberts. He graduated from Roberts high school in 1942 and went on to serve in the US Navy from 1943 to 1946, stationed on the USS Sumner. On Dec. 27, 1946, Vernon was united in marriage to Viola L. Jensen in Baldwin, Wis. Upon his return from the Navy, he farmed with his brother until 1969.
Nov. 11, 2009 C. Clifford Carroll, age 63, of Roberts, Wis., died suddenly and unexpectedly on Nov. 11, 2009, at the Hudson Hospital. Funeral services for Cliff Carroll were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Cross Lutheran Church, 1246 County Road TT, Roberts. Visitation began at 12 noon at the church. Services have been entrusted to the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, Wis., and the Countryside Crematory of Baldwin, Wis.
Nov. 10, 2009 Elva J. Bakker, age 101, of Baldwin, died peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at the Baldwin Care Center. Funeral service for Elva Bakker was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at the Christian Reformed Church in Baldwin. Burial was in the Baldwin Cemetery. Visitation was held on Thursday from 4-6 p.m. at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin as well as one hour prior to the services at church on Friday morning.
Dec. 20, 1924 -Nov. 9, 2009 Mae R. Larson, 84, of Star Prairie died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 at the St. Croix Health Center. She was born the third child of twelve to Sam and Tilda (Walby) Thompson on Dec. 20, 1924, in Town of Alden, Wis. She was baptized, confirmed and remained a lifelong member of West Immanuel Lutheran Church. Mae married Dale Larson on Dec. 20, 1946. The couple farmed for four years until moving to Star Prairie in 1953.
Dolly B. Murray, age 73, of New Richmond, Wis., beloved mother, grandma, and great-grandma, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009. Survived by children, Jim (Rose) Murray, Kelly (Andy) Hanson, and Kim (Robert) Foote. Realtor, bookworm, and jigsaw puzzle enthusiast. Her smiling presence will be missed. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2 at the Cullen Crea Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 12 p.m. service Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Richmond. Harvey Stower, long-time mayor of Amery, Wis. and former state representative serving the 28th Assembly District, has died. Stower died Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. Amery City Council President Michael Karuschak, Jr.
