With a little more than two months until the Nov. 8 election, voters are encouraged not to delay in obtaining the necessary identification. Most voters already have a photo ID to vote, like a driver license or state ID card. However, those who do not have photo ID for voting can get one for free at the DMV.
State Sen. Tom Tiffany (R-Hazelhurst) and Rep. Adam Jarchow (R-Balsam Lake) have announced additional speakers for the Great Lakes Wolf Summit, which is set to be held at Das Lach Haus, 1788 Elm St., Cumberland, on Thursday, Sept. 15, starting at 8:30 a.m. The summit will bring together concerned citizens, policymakers and sportsmen from Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin to discuss wolf management.
ESR Employment & Services held a groundbreaking Friday, Aug. 26, for a new facility to be built at 650 St. Croix Ave., in New Richmond. The new facility in the New Richmond Business and Technical Park will become ESR’s new headquarters for programs that serve nearly 100 individuals with disabilities residing in St. Croix County. ESR’s new building in New Richmond will be approximately 15,000 square feet and will include space for ESR’s production work, administrative offices and flexible use space that can be adapted for future needs.

The New Richmond Senior Center/Nutrition Site will be open for business on Tuesday, Sept. 6, in a new location. After many years at the Community Commons, the site will move to the lower level of the New Richmond Civic Center.
