BALDWIN -- Ten days after the spontaneous combustion of destroyed their recently updated dairy barn, a nearby shed and a Harvestore silo, the destruction has left the Darryl and Julie Terpstra family reconsidering their future in dairying. The barn was situated in the center of a number of buildings at the farm, located at 424 225th St., about four miles southeast of Baldwin in the Town of Eau Galle.

GLENWOOD CITY — A Tuesday night fire on Tuesday night destroyed an unheated pole building at Misty Meadows Wood Products, 751 Seventh St., on the southeast side of the village. Firefighters were alerted to the blaze just after 7 p.m. and flames were showing with the first unit arrived, according to a radio transmission with St. Croix County Dispatch. MENOMONIE -- A pedestrian was struck and killed late Sunday evening on I-94 on the east side of Menomonie but the man's identity hasn't been released. The State Patrol was notified of a possible semi- versus pedestrian crash near Mile 43 at 12:40 p.m. Officers responded and found the body of a man, still in an eastbound traffic lane. The name of the truck driver was not released either. The crash remains under investigation. Menomonie Police and fire units assisted, along with Dunn County sheriff's deputies.
