Nate Peterson recognized for helping to advance the photography industry.

New Richmond Master Photographer, Nate Peterson, owner of NP Design & Photography Studio, has officially earned the Photographic Craftsman degree from Professional Photographers of America (PPA). The degree was presented to Nate Peterson by president Stephen Thetford, M.Photog.Cr., CPP at the association's annual convention, Imaging USA, held January 20-22, 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia.

This degree is not merely a piece of paper. It means that Peterson has met the standards of excellence set by PPA. He has been awarded the Photographic Craftsman degree in recognition of his service to the photographic profession as an orator, author and mentor. "I love 'giving back' by teaching fellow photographers. I have been lucky to have many talented mentors and I'm happy to share my knowledge with others."

Over the last five years, Nate has been traveling the country speaking to groups of photographers gathered at state and national photography conventions. The largest audience of 800 people, was January 2018 at PPAs National Convention. Most recently Peterson spoke at SYNC in Destin, FL, where 400 of the top High School Senior Photographers were gathered. "That one was the most intimidating, because the entire crowd was full of top-level talent. I was humbled they were there to listen to me." said Peterson.

On top of the speaking engagements, this year Peterson also finds time to serve as the President of the TCPPA (Twin Cities Professional Photography Association.) "Its a lot of work, but giving back to an industry that helped me achieve my success, makes it worth it." states Peterson. We believe in the theory of rising tide rises all ships If we help each other get better, the industry gets better, and in the end all the clients win with better quality work and better quality photographic experiences."

Peterson's degree-and all the expertise is requires-illustrates his accomplishments and talent as one of a select few. In 2019, he was one of only 73 recipients from across the entire U.S.
