Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and at the Friday Memorial Library we want to show you how much we love our community. That's why we're teaming up with Family Fresh to encourage you to "Have a Heart and Donate Food for Fines," Feb. 5-17.

During this promotion, each non-perishable food, cleaning, or hygiene item donated equals a $1 credit towards library fines up to $10 per account. A $10 Family Fresh gift card equals $20 towards library fines. To encourage community support, Family Fresh will match gift card donations up to $500, doubling your contribution. As an added incentive, receive a coupon to Two Fish Thrift Store with your donation.

All items collected will be donated to the Five Loaves Food Shelf of New Richmond. The food shelf recently experienced a flood in their storage area and needs support replenishing items that were lost. Specific items needed include: noodles of all shapes and sizes, stuffing, boxed potato mixes, boxed rice, 5 pound bags of flour and sugar, pudding mixes, cake mixes, toilet paper and paper towels.

The Five Loaves Food Shelf provides much-needed food assistance in our community. They serve an average of 700 people per month; including over 200 children. This is a great way to pay your fines and show your compassion for New Richmond at the same time.

The library cannot waive replacement charges or fines from materials borrowed from Ladysmith/Rusk County Library.
