The 2018 Roberts Good Neighbor Days festival will kick off with the Community Appreciation Dinner and Good Neighbor Award presentation at Roberts Community Park at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 31. The festival goes through Sunday, June 3.

"What to look forward to: great food, drink, music, seeing the new royalty crowned and who will be the Good Neighbor of the Year. Most of all, taking time to reconnect with your friends and family at the Roberts Community Park," said Good Neighbor Days co-chair Geno Hanson.

The festival will continue on Friday with the tractor pull and slow pitch softball tournament, in addition to the pair of musical acts that will take the stage Friday night.

"Most of this year's bands will have a local flavor. The music starts on Thursday night with the awesome St. Croix Central High School band. Friday night will start off with Boston Haas, a very talented local band ... then Boondoggle returns to Good Neighbor Days. These two bands will deliver great music and fun to the Good Neighbor Days Crowd," Hanson said. "Saturday night will bring regional music as Jonah and the Whales play Good Neighbor Days for the first time, along with the Phantom Fireworks Display at dusk. Sunday music will wrap up with the Hunyuks and Friends."

According to Hanson, new this year will be a 3-on-3 basketball tournament at SCC Elementary 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, and a food trailer will be added at the tractor and truck pulls as well as the demolition derby.

"The Good Neighbor Days tractor pull, demo derby, car show and truck pull always deliver great entertainment," Hanson said. "Along with the carnival, kiddie parade, kiddie peddle tractor pull, 4-H activities there is something for every age group and interest. Let's not forget about the Grand Parade on Sunday, tons of fun."

Hansen also wanted to advise anyone who hasn't been to Good Neighbor Days before that all money raised by the Roberts Lions and the other non-profit groups goes towards community projects and groups.

"You can have a really great time and help your community at the same time, how cool is that?" Hanson said.
