Teachers will be ready

Teachers at both Starr Elementary and Hillside Elementary in New Richmond said Friday that they will have their classrooms ready for the start of school on Sept. 8.

Several teachers were working on organizing their rooms on Friday Aug. 29 and had been at it for two days.

Although the finishing touches of construction continue all around them, the teachers interviewed feel confident they will have their classrooms put together in time for the delayed start day of classes.

"It seemed overwhelming when I first walked in on Wednesday," said Starr Elementary School kindergarten teacher, Sherry Thompson. "But after a few days working on it, I feel confident that I'll be ready for the kindergarten orientation meetings for parents and children, which begin on Sept. 8."
