Wisconsin DMV offices closed Aug. 7
All Wisconsin Division of Motor Vehicles offices will be closed for business Friday, Aug. 7, as DMV staff complete one of eight unpaid days required for each of the next two years.
Employee furloughs for all university and state employees are part of the 2009-11 state budget recently signed into law.
DMV's automated phone system will remain available so that motorists can still make road test appointments and have access to recorded information.
Titling and registration services are offered by many third-party partners, such as some police stations, grocery stores and financial institutions around the state. Information can be found at www.wisconsin.gov/drivers/vehicles/plates/walkin.htm.
Many services, such as vehicle registration renewal, do not require a visit to a service center and are available online at www.wisconsindmv.gov.
All DMV offices will resume regular business hours Monday, Aug. 10.
