Amery man taken to hospital after 2-vehicle crash in Stanton

TOWN OF STANTON -- An Amery man was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash late Wednesday night in the town of Stanton.

According to St. Croix County Sheriff Scott Knudson, the crash occurred at 8:52 p.m. Oct. 17 at State Highway 64 and County Road T when a 2003 Chevy Malibu heading northbound on T, driven by 18-year-old Dominic Wilkens, pulled out from a stop sign in front of a westbound 2016 Ford Taurus, driven by Angela Williams, 42, Amery. Williams collided with Wilkens.

EMS treated Williams on the scene, who had no apparent injuries, Knudson said. EMS transported Wilkens to Westfields Hospital in New Richmond with minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, Knudson said. Both vehicles sustained severe damage.

Knudson said there are no indications that alcohol was a factor, though investigation continues as to whether a failure to yield the right of way caused the crash.
