Somerset School district, St. Anne welcome new staff
The Somerset School District will welcome more than 14 new staff members to its roster for the 2016-17 school year.
St. Anne’s will also add two new staff members, while one staff members will be taking on a new role this school year.
To help you identify the new faces out and about in the community, the following are brief profiles and photographs of each new Somerset and St. Anne staff members.
Family: Husband, Ernie; kids: Caitlyn (senior at SHS), Henry (junior at SHS)
Position in district: first-grade teacher
Education: BS — St. Cloud State in Special Edu. and Early Childhood; Masters — UW-RF in Elementary Ed.
Previous work experience: I taught elementary special ed. and regular ed. in Stillwater. I have also subbed in Somerset for several years.
Hobbies and pastimes: I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and pets. I like being creative with a variety of crafts. I’m busy during the summer pulling weeds, doing yard work and relaxing. I also love any time I spend in my hometown of Grand Marais, Minn. on Lake Superior.
Family: Husband, Rick; daughters: Emily (15), Abbie (13) and Lila (3)
Position in district: Accounts payable/purchasing agent
Education: BS Sociology — UW-RF
Previous work experience: Most recently spent two years as the St. Croix County County Administrators executive assistant. Before that, I spent eight years with the NRSD in enrollments and special education.
Hobbies and pastimes:Spending time with my family and friends. Attending all of my girls sporting events. I also love running and just completed my third marathon this summer.

Hobbies and pastimes: Reading, going for walks and spending time with family and friends.

Education: UW-Stout for Early Childhood and Special Education
Previous work experience: Early Childhood and 4K teacher in Stanley-Boyd (three years); 4K teacher in Menomonie (five years)
Hobbies and pastimes: Going for walks, bike rides, hanging out with family and friends and scrapbooking.
Position in district: Early childhood special education teacher
Education: UW-Stout Bachelors in Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Ed.
Previous work experience: Taught for three years in Tomah; taught for one year in Baldwin-Woodville.
Hobbies and pastimes: Traveling, camping, hiking, sporting events and cooking.
Family: Husband, Tommy; daughter (6-years-old)
Position in district: Special ed. Aid in early childhood
Education: ECE Associate’s degree; ECE Bachelor’s degree in progress
Previous work experience: Owned Family Childcare in Somerset for four years. NR elementary special ed. aid (2015-2016)
Hobbies and pastimes: Being a mom and spending time with family.

Previous work experience: Somerset Elementary — Early Childhood long term sub (½ year); Wisconsin Early Autism Project (three years).
Hobbies and pastimes: Hunting, fishing, taking my dogs swimming and watching college and professional sports.
Family: Mom, dad, two sisters and one brother

Education: High school — SHS; sophomore at CSU Global
Previous work experience: Customer service at Float Rite Park; Serving at General Sam’s.
Hobbies and pastimes: Spending time with family, being outdoors, playing sports or just hanging out reading a good book. I enjoy hiking, swimming and playing with my puppy Sadie.
Family: Mother, Lorene Lisheron; father Arthur Schneider.
Position in district: .60 FTE high school social studies
Previous work experience: Student taught at Milwaukee Public Schools and West Allis West Milwaukee.
Hobbies and pastimes: Cycling and Netflix.
Jonathan T. Grant
Family: Wife, Aimee; children: Owen (8) and Wyatt (5)
Position in district: high school special ed. teacher
Education: Northern Michigan University — Health; NORDA/SMU Minnesota — Special Ed.
Previous work experience: Somerset High School, alternative ed. assistant — three years; Hudson High School, special ed., EBD assistant — two years.
Hobbies and pastimes: Anything outdoors, including: camping, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, geocaching. I also enjoy spending time with my family.
St. Anne Catholic School
Position in district: 4K/Pre-K
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Kean University in New Jersey.
Previous work experience: Primrose School in Minnetonka, Minn.; Sylvan Learning Center in Eagan; Teachers on Call in St. Paul; volunteer catechist for Faith Formation classes at St. Bridget’s in Minneapolis.
Family: Married with two sons
Position in district: middle school social studies/5-6 Religion
Education: Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Minnesota; Master’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Previous work experience: Owned and operated her own business for the past nine years.
Position in district: new position — assistant principal/administrative assistant; will continue to teach science classes part-time in the middle school.
Education: Accepted into the Master’s program in education at St. Mary’s University (Winona-Twin Cities) and is dual-enrolled in MA and Principal Licensure program.
Previous work experience: Has taught at St. Anne for 25 years.
