SCC chooses next superintendent

The St. Croix Central School Board has chosen Timothy R. Widiker, current principal in the Webster School District, as its next superintendent. He will replace David Bradley, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

"We are extremely pleased with the quality of candidates our district was able to attract. We had over 20 applicants with four finalists, any one of which could have served our district well. With input from teachers, staff and the community the Board unanimously selected Tim as our new superintendent." said Howard Kruschke, School Board president.

Widiker comes to the district with high recommendations, having served three years as assistant principal, athletic director and transportation director and the last 11 years as principal for fifth grade through 12th grade in Webster.

At Webster, Widiker championed advances in curriculum and technology.

Widiker has been the president of the Lakeland Conference Principals Association for many years. Widiker is married to Mindy who is a teacher. They have two children who are in third and sixth grade.

"I am excited about the opportunity to join such a great district. I look forward to working with the district's board, administrators, educators and community to drive the district's vision to be a model of excellence in student achievement." Widiker said.

Widiker was selected after a statewide search which attracted more than 20 applicants. With the assistance of Wisconsin Association of School Boards, the board invited four finalists to meet in an all-day process with administrators, teachers, staff and the community before a final interview with the board.

With an annual budget of approximately $16 million, St. Croix Central School District serves nearly 1,500 students. Widiker will join the SCC team of more than 180 staff members.
