At their meeting last Wednesday evening, Star Prairie village trustees approved a proposal submitted by KLM Engineering, Inc. totaling $3,800 to inspect the water tower using a remotely operated vehicle.
The revised proposal addressed a number of concerns voiced previously by Village Attorney Tim Scott, satisfactorily.
"I just think you want to make sure we're clear with them about our cost versus $450,000 for the whole package. Their proposal spells out all of that long-term maintenance stuff," warned Scott. Trustees approved the KLM proposal unanimously.
• Trustees tabled a proposal from TCH Twin City Hardware worth $1,846 to replace the outside exiting door at the Post Office building with a steel door and frame opting instead to budget for the expense in 2018. They agreed to apply temporary measures to get through the winter and then solicit additional bids for the replacement steel door in the spring.
