New Richmond Utilities is getting into the holiday spirit and giving back to the community.

"Our locally owned, not-for-profit utility exists for the benefit of the community, and it's important for us to support our neighbors by giving back, especially during the holiday season." said Mike Darrow, city administrator and utility manager.

The utility donated to Five Loaves Food Shelf to support their work helping feed New Richmond's hungry families. "Organizations such as Five Loaves make such a positive difference in the community, and we are really happy to support them," Darrow said.

The donations were made possible through community relations funding provided by the utility's nonprofit power supplier, WPPI Energy.

Five Loaves needs are many and with the holiday season upon us, now is a great time to consider donations. Five Loaves accepts food, clothing, monetary donations and assistance from organizations and individuals. Dropoffs are accepted during their hours of operation and appointments can be arranged.
