Friday's Results: New Richmond boys basketball shuts down Amery

The New Richmond boys basketball team played an outstanding defensive game on its home court against Amery on Friday.

It took the Tiger offense a half to get to that level. In the second half, with both aspects of their game clicking, the Tigers ran away from Amery, 59-34.

With the win, the Tigers improve to 6-4 in the Middle Border Conference. Amery now stands at 2-8.

New Richmond's boys took charge of Friday's game early, using a 13-1 run early in the first half to take a commanding lead. New Richmond was more athletic and better conditioned, and the Tigers were able to shut down Amery's attack until the benches were emptied. New Richmond led 23-12 at halftime and had the lead expanded to 41-16 early in the second half.

Ryan Kling led the Tigers with 14 points and Joey Kidder scored 11 points.
