The St. Croix Central boys basketball team fell victim to the Prescott Cardinals, the Middle Border Conference leaders. Prescott ran away from the Panthers, 91-64.
Somerset's boys basketball team led early in the second half at home against Ellsworth on Thursday. Ellsworth then slapped on a halfcourt trap defense that forced the Spartans into numerous turnovers. That allowed Ellsworth to pull ahead for a 79-62 win. Ty Madden led Somerset with 23 points.
