The 2018 Middle Border Conference cross country meet will be held at St. Croix Central High School on Thursday, and it promises to be a truly competitive meet.

Events begin with the course opening at 3:30 p.m. The coaches meeting will be held at 4 p.m. The boys will run first, with a 4:30 p.m. scheduled start. The girls race will follow at 5:15 p.m. Presentation of awards is scheduled for 6 p.m., or when compilation of the race results is completed. Medals will be awarded to the top 14 varsity Individuals in each race. The top seven runners in each Varsity race will be named first team all-conference. The next seven runners will be named second team all-conference.

St. Croix Central didn't have a race this week, preferring to hone its skills for the conference meet. Central coach Bill Emery said both of his teams are hoping to win championships on Thursday, but they know there will be a great deal of competition for the team titles.

"I think our girls have a stronger chance. The boys have a bigger hurdle; Osceola is a pretty big hurdle," Emery said. "It's one of those meets that people will want to watch. It won't be a walk-away by anybody."
