Four local players receive boys all-state hockey honors

New Richmond senior Nick Johnson (right) was one of four local players named to the Wisconsin Hockey Coaches Association All-State team on Thursday.

Three players from New Richmond and one from Somerset were named to the Wisconsin Hockey Coaches Association boys hockey all-state team on Thursday.

New Richmond seniors Nick Johnson, Eric Langer and Chris Lubow were honorable mention choices for the all-state team. Somerset junior Jack Peterson was also an honorable mention selection.

Johnson and Langer shared the Tigers' scoring leadership, each of them finishing the season with 45 points. Langer finished the season with 30 goals and 15 assists, while Johnson's points came from 21 goals and 24 assists.

Lubow received honorable mention all-state honors for the second straight year. This season he finished with 17 points on three goals and 14 assists.

Peterson finished the season as Somerset's leading scorer. He amassed 40 points on 21 goals and 19 assists.
