Noah Weidenfeld completed his 26.2-hour Salvation Army Red Kettle bell ringing marathon at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14. A total of more than $80,000 was raised during the marathon. On Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, Glenn Wachtler from Compeer Financial of Baldwin presented a $2,500 grant award to New Richmond Fire Chief Jim VanderWyst. New Richmond Fire & Rescue wishes to thank Compeer Financial for their generous support, as these funds were used to purchase rescue ropes and related equipment for the fire department. The Free Clinic of Pierce and St. Croix Counties is looking to make connections beyond River Falls, where it's located, to other communities that it serves, especially Hudson. The students at the New Richmond Middle School gave an incredible effort in collecting items for the New Richmond Food Shelf. The middle school students nearly matched the amount of items collected from all the rest of the district buildings.
